FAQ — Golden Memorial Final Expense Insurance | Martin Eichhorn

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers about final expense insurance, the application process, and how Golden Memorial protects your family. No jargon. No pressure.

Shield Coverage & Eligibility

Do I need a medical exam?

No. Golden Memorial final expense plans require no medical exam and no health questions for most plans. Coverage options may be available for eligible applicants. Some plans may include limitations, exclusions, or graded benefits — a licensed representative can explain exactly how available options work before you apply.

What ages can get coverage?

Most plans cover ages 0 to 85. The specific age range depends on the plan type and coverage amount. During your consultation, we'll match you with the right plan for your age and needs.

Will my premiums ever go up?

No. Your premium is guaranteed level for life. It will never increase, regardless of your age or health changes. What you pay today is what you pay forever.

Can the benefit amount decrease?

No. The death benefit is guaranteed and will never decrease as long as premiums are paid. Your family receives the full face amount.

Cost: Costs & Payment

How much does final expense insurance cost?

Premiums typically range from $25 to $150 per month, depending on your age, coverage amount, and plan type. A 60-year-old might pay around $50-$70/month for $10,000-$15,000 in coverage. We'll give you exact quotes during your consultation — no surprises.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Most plans include a grace period (typically 30-31 days) after a missed payment. If payment is not made during the grace period, the policy may lapse. Some plans offer reduced paid-up or extended term options. We'll explain your specific policy's protections.

Can someone else pay for my policy?

Yes. A child, spouse, or other family member can own and pay for a policy with you as the insured. This is common when an adult child wants to protect their aging parent. We'll structure it correctly so there's no confusion at claim time.

Family & Beneficiaries

Who can be my beneficiary?

You can name any person or entity as your beneficiary — a spouse, child, grandchild, sibling, trust, or even a funeral home. You can also name multiple beneficiaries with specific percentages. We'll help you structure this properly.

Can I get coverage for my parent or spouse?

Yes. You can be the policy owner and payor with your parent or spouse as the insured. This is one of the most common ways families protect each other. The application requires the insured's consent and signature.

How quickly does my family get the benefit?

Most claims are paid within 24-48 hours of receiving the required documentation (death certificate and claim form). Lincoln Heritage has a strong reputation for fast, compassionate claims handling.

List: The Process

How long does the application take?

Most applications are approved within minutes. No medical exam means no waiting for lab results. Coverage often begins immediately upon approval and first premium payment.

Do I have to talk to someone, or can I apply online?

We recommend a brief consultation first — even a 10-minute phone call — so we can answer your questions and make sure you understand your options. But if you prefer, we can handle much of the process electronically after that initial conversation.

Is there a waiting period?

Most Golden Memorial plans provide full coverage from day one. Some graded plans have a brief period (typically 2 years) where the benefit is a return of premiums plus interest if death occurs from natural causes. Accidental death is covered fully from day one on all plans. We'll explain exactly how your plan works.
